Before Installation

NOTE: The latest CSense distribution contains all the changes contained in the previous Service Packs and SIMs.

  1. Ensure that your environment meets the minimum hardware and software requirements for Proficy CSense.

NOTE: Ensure that the CSense installer that you run is available on your machine's local drive. Installing CSense from a network drive or network folder is not supported.

  2. If you are upgrading for a previous version, be sure to back up your Python modules as the upgrade procedure may remove your installed Python modules. Newer versions of CSense may include a later version of Python, requiring you to re-install updated versions of third-party Python modules.

  3. Exit any existing copies of the Proficy CSense software that you have them running.

  4. Stop all the running Proficy CSense Action Objects.

  5. Log in to Windows with an account that has administrator privileges.

  6. Consider disabling virus-checking software and Internet security applications on your system for the duration of the installation process. These applications may impact on the installation process or cause it to appear unresponsive.
